Profile

I am a medical doctor and PhD student affiliated with the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at Aarhus University Hospital and the Institute for Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University, Denmark.

I specialise in gastroenterology and endocrinology, with a focus on understanding the complex interplay between these medical fields. As part of my PhD research, I have conducted a randomised clinical trial—the first to explore the effects of faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in patients with type 1 diabetes and severe gastroenteropathy. My work provides valuable new insights and paves the way for innovative treatment approaches for a particularly challenging patient group.

Research

My research focuses on faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as a treatment for type 1 diabetes patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, where results indicate symptom relief and improved quality of life. Additionally, I investigate strategies for managing gastrointestinal symptoms in this patient group, with a particular focus on dysmotility and dysbiosis.

I have also specialised in safety monitoring in clinical trials, including the recording, grading, and classification of adverse events.
