My field of research is within immune-mediated rheumatologic diseases with a particular focus on rheumatoid arthritis and giant cell arteritis, diagnostic and monitoring imaging, cardiovascular and skeletal comorbidity.
Through local, national and international collaboration I focus on establishing clinical trials and well-characterized clinical cohorts to achieve the overarching goal of impacting the guidelines for diagnosing and treatment of immune-mediated rheumatologic diseases.
I have extensive experience in teaching and supervising medical students at the master level, Ph.D.-students, medical doctors in rheumatology training, and I have edited the two Danish reference textbooks on internal medicine and rheumatology.
My primary responsibility is to educate and recruit the healthcare professionals of tomorrow, establish and support clinical research, and foster collaboration among experts, methodologies, and patient research partners. Together, our goal is to advance scientific understanding and effectively address the complexities of immune-mediated rheumatologic diseases.
These collaborative efforts must ultimately lead to meaningful improvements in patient care.
